Missions

"For God so loved the world..."

“God so loved the world” and as recipients of His great love, we take seriously Jesus’ charge for us to share the Good News of Jesus locally, nationally, and around the world through word and deed.

Internationally, we support missions through going, giving, and praying. Some of our mission work includes:

  • Multiple annual short-term mission trips
  • Supporting career missionaries through IMB and directly in 7 countries
  • Long term partnerships in India, Brazil and Guatemala
  • Construction and support of Salem School in India and orphanages in South America
  • Training of indigenous pastors

Locally, Salem helps meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community (and beyond) through mission projects and the support of ministry partners such as the pregnancy care center, food pantry, and children’s homes. Salem’s Baptist Men and Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) also lead the church in mission education and involvement.

Salem’s Baptist Men meet monthly to build wheelchair ramps, split firewood for those in need, and do repair work at Baptist Children’s Homes. They also take part in disaster relief, such as the clean-out and rebuilding effort in Lumberton, NC. Once a month the Baptist Men meet for breakfast.

Men should also check out the Men’s Discipleship Ministry.

The ladies of the WMU meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. They have a passion, love, and concern for helping others through mission outreach projects. Their ministry includes hosting blood drives, providing meals to first-responders, and supplying groceries to those in need.

Ladies can also check out our sister Women’s Ministry.
